We are going to Myrtle beach in Mid July. I have two children 8 and 5. I am wanting to enjoy the beach. I want to look for sea shells, and play in the ocean. I plan on going to Ripley’s, and possibly Family Kingdom. Any advice on a cheap, place to stay would be great. Thank you!

the Dayton House we are staying for 7 days and its about 900 dollars, very nice hotel if you stay in the suites building, and you could walk to family kingdom. =]

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Hello – There are several hotels that are offering fantastic rates on the blvd. We had a terrible Month of May due to our elected officials telling bikers they were not welcome, so the hotels are very hungry for guests. If you haven’t booked a room yet I would almost wait until you get here and just drive up Ocean Blvd. and get a nice place at the best price. One suggestion, while Ripley’s Aquarium is a place tourists like to go. I personally do not think it is worth the price to get in. I am a local and I get in for half price, it’s not even worth that. I am sorry to say. There are other fun things to do though. In Little River you can take a boat ride called the Sea Screamer and watch the Dolphin’s in the ocean. The cost for an adult is $22.00 not sure how much for kids. It is a blast. There is a zoo in Socastee called the Waccatee Zoo, it is also great since you can actually feed the animals. And Alligator Adventure is also alot of fun. Don’t forget to check out Huntington State Park in Murrell’s Inlet. Well I hope you have fun when your here!
