What is something fun to do when you can’t really afford a long vacation?

I am going to have off work for five days coming up soon around labor day, and want to know of something fun for a family and couple to do. I have a 3 month old and my husband and I are 23 yrs old. Going on a long vacation right now really isn’t in view, but I would like to plan some fun things for the whole family and just for my husband and I.

We live 20 minutes from Washington, DC and 30 minutes from Baltimore, MD.
