What is a fun East Coast beach vacation area?

Hampton Beach in NH is good especially for night life and kids, You can also try Hyannis MA or the cape in MA.
As a child, we summered in Groton Long Point Connecticut. It was great because the Yacht Club used to have activities for children every other night-and not expensive!
Virginia Beach, you might try there. Seaside Heights or Wildwood NJ? How would those be?
You might consider Charleston,SC. Several diff. beaches, a good downtown nightlife. Kids might like the Aquarium, the Yorktown-WW II carrier, boats rides in the harbor to Fort Sumter. There are a few waterparks nearby and a childrens museum downtown.
