See if you can find a mountain cabin – very romantic! Many today are equipped with all the ammenities of home including game rooms, wireless internet, satellite TV, firepits, etc..

Here are a few websites that provide cabin rentals from all over the United States. I advertise on these sites and find them to be very user friendly!

but i strongly recommend Lake Placid in the adirondacks–its right on a lake (mirror lake) and surrounded by some of the highest mountains in the northeast..plus you can ski at whiteface, explore the olypmic sites in town, and just walk around town

fun and romantic…you said a mouthfull…that is what upstate New York is all about. By a Lake is nice and I’ll get to that, if you want to go during the winter months, you really need to check all the ski resorts, even if you don’t ski…you’ll find great escapes at any of them in the many resorts just to the west of Albany in the mountains there. However myu favorite place to go at any time is Lake George…winter summer or anything in between..romantic and peaceful is the norm…or you can find things to do in town about anytime..there are plenty of very comfortable motels and events all year long..thre is a ferry ride on the lake that you can do and lots to see even drive and take in the beauty of the area..I’d tell you specifics but things change all year long, and events come and go..I went once and they had a boat show on the lake with old Criscrafts from the early 40’s and 50’s there to gaze at and see run on the water…
