I’m going on vacation and need a book to pass the time when traveling. Something light and fun.
Any ideas?

Try a book by Marian Keyes like “Sushi for Beginners” (for chick-lit) or “Perfume” by Patrick Suskind if you’re going to be sharing the book with a man. If you like editorial-style non-fiction, definitely check out “Freakonomics” by Steven D. Levitt, which is a great discussion-starter if two people both read it.

I just finished reading Life Expectancy by Dean Koontz. It’s actually a charming book, one of his latests.

The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Oh man..it is so funny…I loved them all. There are 11 books in the series..and you can now buy the first 3 books in 1. The first one is One for the Money.
It is funny…laugh out loud funny at times. Trust me please and try it..I don’t think you will be disappointed at all.
You will find them in the mystery section of the book store. She has some in romance too..but that isn’t this series. :)

Heartland, it is a horse series,it’s about a girl and her mom. they own a ranch and they help injured (physically and mentally) horses. It is sad in the first couple of books. you have to read them in order thoough. like 1, 2, 3, 4,5, 6,7,8,9, ect. They are short books too

Gotta go with Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum books. They are downright hilarious. They also take a little less than a day to read, so you may wanna pick up a few.

“A Confederacy of Dunces,” a big paperback, the funniest book of the twentieth century. Astonishingly hilarious.

Black Boy – Richard Wright I had to read it for my freshman year English 1 Honors class, and 2 years later (having read lots and lots more books) it is still the best book i have ever read…

Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver. It is my favorite. I love the audio of this book. It is read by the author. It is a great read! Wish they would make a movie of it.

Anything by Adriana Trigiani. The Provence series by Peter Mayle is light and fun. “The Other Boleyn Girl” by Phillipa Gregory is a bit racy.

Hi there. Drop over to Amazon and get a book called THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY. This is a medieval fantasy epic about a young boy who is trying to regain his family’s ancestral home in Scotland. It’s full of action, adventure, magic and lots of colorful characters. This book has been received glowing reviews in major media and is being considered for a movie. I think it’s particularly good for younger readers because the main characters are mostly under 20.

Blackgloom is available in hard cover or eBook form or from your local library. Good luck, whatever you decide to read.
