you can go pretty much anywere with him. He will enjoy it
When ours were that age we took them with us on camping trips, fishing trips and just about anything and everything we wanted to do.
Even taking them to a neighborhood park was enjoyable.
Anything new is always going to be soo amazing to a 2 year old. Theme parks like Disney are a bonus because most toddlers are free til they’re 3. If you haven’t taken him to a beach before…a nice beach destination is always a classic for a first vacation. There is so much that can be done at the beach and many beach towns also offer perks like Aquariums which are always fun to go to at any age.
I’m sure he’ll have fun no matter where you go. Brain storm with your spouse…both of you pick a couple of places, research pros and cons then sit down, compare and decide together. Maybe show some pictures of each place to your son and see what he likes best so he can help in the decision.

Honestly, two year olds won’t remember a whole lot at this age. They tend to tire easily and aren’t up to too much hoopla. In fact, they still crave their day to day schedule at this point. You don’t need to do an extravagant family vacation! Some ideas are: camping, fishing, zoo, animal parks, aquariums, playgrounds, short hiking trips, beaches, lakes, or nature parks.
