I strongly recommend Arlington – there’s a lot to see and do there including Six Flags amusement park and Hurricane Harbor water park, not to mention the Ballpark at Arlington and a plethora of shopping venues.
I’d vote for New Braunfels — about 35 miles from San Antonio. The Schlitterbahn there is a several mile-long rapidly-flowing stream that’s fun for rafting and inner-tubing (some white water). It’s a big spot for teens and college kids, but (as they say), “fun for the whole family. Here’s a link:
Try Palo Duro Canyon in the Panhandle the second largest canyon in North America.
Arlington TX is home to The Texas Rangers baseball team, Six Flags amusement park and a water park.
